Reevaluating Beliefs About Money

you empowered strong Mar 29, 2019

Are you looking to level-up your leadership skills? What does it mean to be a leader in today’s environment? Are you bringing the heart, soul and focus you need to serve at your highest capacity? Do you want some tools and strategies to elevate your game?

The Power House Podcast is that space to talk about all aspects of leadership and what it means to show up fully in your authenticity and to serve others to create massive impact,  influence and change.

It is also about knowing that ultimately leadership is a function of how you choose to show up, how you choose to serve others and how you choose to take personal responsibility inside that space. Leadership is everyone’s opportunity AND a team sport.

On the show, we get into rich, meaty, and sometimes uncomfortable conversations to help facilitate growth and shed light on some powerful issues.

I was DELIGHTED and THRILLED by my conversation with my recent guest, Ellen Rogin! Talk about a true Power House!

Ellen has made her life’s work educating, guiding, and counseling people to grow their prosperity so that they can use it as a force for good in their lives and the world.

She is the co-author of the New York Times Bestseller: Picture Your Prosperity – Smart Money Moves to Turn Your Vision into Reality. Ellen is chock full of credentials—she’s a MBA, CPA, Certified Financial Planner, and she also balances values, the big picture, meditation, and ideas all with a sense of humor into her business and life.

She’s as comfortable discussing the power of compound interest as she is the power of belief. TedX was lucky enough to have her on stage for a powerful talk, and she has been quoted in the New York Times, Money Magazine, Forbes and the Huffington Post.

Ellen’s goal is to create a world where everyone is a rockstar in handling their own money and in living their lives so that it’s filled with meaning, generosity, and abundance.

From our conversation I pulled out a few big take take-aways I wanted to highlight:

  • Our beliefs about money establish how we relate to money – we can chooseto shift our beliefs to better serve us
  • We can’t be afraid to ask the questions around what we believe:
    • “What does money mean to me?”
    • “Does this serve me?”
  • Contradictory beliefs can cause large problems and hold us back from our ultimate goals
  • Gifts come in all shapes and sizes – often we have to look for them in ways we were not expecting
  • We have to be able to give and to receive – there are benefits to allowing yourself to receive. When you choose not to ... ask yourself these three questions:
    • Who are you not serving in this moment?
    • Whose permission are you taking away right now?
    • Who are you not letting shine their light?
  • Gratitude will increase your happiness levels by 25%
